The best crib mattress — with no flame retardants

Newborns spend about 75% of their time asleep and even as they grow, children spend half or more of their day asleep! But I found out many mattresses are treated with flame retardants to meet fire-safety regulations– and that that those chemicals may be harmful for infants and children. Needless to say, I wanted to find a crib mattress that was safe and comfortable.
